The Right Home for Your Family

At Sterling, we pride ourselves on building homes that families want to live in. In Secord Heights, we offer some of our best front-attached and duplex style models.

Our Harmony Model, for instance, is a front-attached home with a classic and welcoming look to the outside of the home. It has over 2,300 square feet of living space. On the main level, you’ll find an oversized mudroom, a walk-through pantry, and a flex room that makes the perfect home office in addition to the traditional open-concept living space with the kitchen, dining area, and living room. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, and a bonus room at the centre that’s ideal for your family to hang out and relax in. With options to finish the basement, you could have the perfect place for a large, multigenerational family or make your home more affordable by adding a legal suite.

Those who prefer a more affordable starter or retirement home really like the Revive duplex. This model starts at $351,900, and it has over 1,500 square feet of living space. It has everything you might want in a home, though, including an open-concept living space, luxurious ensuite in the master bedroom, and a second floor laundry room.

Kid-Friendly Neighbourhood

Secord Heights is paved with quiet streets where your kids can safely learn to ride their bikes. They’ll be begging to go on after-dinner walks or rides throughout the neighbourhood. You won’t mind going either, as the walking trails take you near the three man-made ponds, the natural wetlands, and the treestand area. There are two playgrounds in this community, where families like to go to get the kids’ wiggles out and meet up with friends.

Once you see what this neighbourhood is like, you’ll know you have found the perfect spot to live.

Nearby Shopping and Recreation

No community is complete without easy access to the stores and other amenities you need for daily living. The great thing about Secord Heights is that it’s simply the newest part of the already established Secord community. This means that there are great options for shopping nearby, including places like Save-On Foods, Dollarama, Costco, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Even better, West Edmonton Mall is less than a 10 minute drive, so you can easily get there for shopping or family fun.

When it comes to recreation, you’ll be overwhelmed by your choices. Perhaps you’ll want to join the YMCA or the Jasper Place Leisure Centre, where you can take exercise classes or just hit the treadmill. Many residents in Secord Heights like to go golfing at Lewis Estates or The Ranch Golf and Country Club. When the winter weather hits, you can continue to stay active by going ice skating at the Secord skating rink. There are lots of opportunities for year-round fun.

Great Schools

You want your kids to get the best education, and that’s what will happen when they attend the schools that are close to Secord Heights. Most residents look at either the public schools or the Catholic schools, and both options are available. Many students attend the nearby public school, David Thomas King, which houses students from kindergarten to ninth grade. Students then move on to Jasper Place High School. If you prefer a religious approach to education, Bishop David Motiuk School is the designated Catholic elementary and junior high school.

Parents may be able to enrol their children in other public, Catholic, or private schools depending on availability. If there is another school you’d prefer, just ask the district.

Easy Commuting

No matter where you work, you’ll enjoy an easy commute if you choose Secord Heights as your home. It takes less than 20 minutes to get to the University of Alberta and less than 25 minutes to get to the downtown area. If you’re travelling for business or pleasure, you’ll be happy to know that the airport is just a 26 minute drive away. Many residents also prefer to commute by public transportation. It will take about 4 minutes to get to the Lewis Farms Transit Centre, and from there, you’ll be able to catch a bus to wherever you want to go.

Clearly, Secord Heights has a lot to offer residents. We think you’ll love making it your home as well. Contact us today to learn more about this great community and schedule a tour.
