When you’re choosing a community to build your family’s home, you want a place where you can feel comfortable. You want a place where the kids can play with friends; where the family can safely go on a walk or bike ride after dinner; where the schools are great; and where you can truly put down your roots for good.

We believe that Summerwood could be the perfect place for your family.

Set outside of the hustle and bustle of the city in Sherwood Park, Summerwood offers all of the conveniences of modern life in a quiet, park-like setting. Once you learn more about this community, you’ll want to start calling it home.

Affordable and Picturesque Homes

The homes that we’re building in Summerwood are based on our Evolve line, which perfectly blends all of the features that buyers are looking for with a unique building style that makes homes more affordable. For the most part, they’re three-bedroom laned homes, so you get the space you need with the picket-fence look to the outside of the home.

The Sansa model, for instance, is almost 1,500 square feet. The open-concept main floor has a spacious feel, with the kitchen, dining nook, and living area. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms, an ensuite and walk-in closet in the master bedroom, a laundry room, and even a loft! For just a bit of extra money, you could finish the basement for extra space for your family or you could turn it into a legal income suite. The choice is yours.

The Ideal Family Setting

Summerwood has been masterfully planned to give families everything they could possibly want in a community. You get the suburban feel that comes from having your own yard for backyard barbecues or just relaxing by the firepit together. There are three playgrounds in the community, so no matter where you choose your lot, there’s bound to be a playground nearby. In the summer, kids can cool off at the spray park. Summerwood also features plenty of multi-use trails that can take you around parks and green spaces, stormwater ponds, and creeks. It’s a lot of fun to spend time in these natural settings throughout all of the seasons of the year.

Nearby Amenities

Despite being located outside of the city, you’ll be happy to know that Summerwood is still located in a developed city that has plenty of amenities. You have a nice selection of options for shopping at both the Emerald Hills Centre and the Sherwood Park Mall: stores like Walmart, Canadian Tire, Gap, and more. There are also nearby recreation centres, such as Emerald Hills Leisure Centre, Centennial Park, and Millennium Place, and health centres like Strathcona Community Hospital and Synergy Medical Clinic

Everything you need is just a short drive away, and yet you get the benefit of a quieter locale.

Convenient Commuting

Some people choose Summerwood specifically because it’s a 10-minute drive to their place of employment. With a variety of schools, stores, and places for professional services like taxes or dental work, there are a lot of nearby work options. However, if you work in the downtown Edmonton area, you’ll have a driving commute that’s less than 30 minutes because Summerwood is so close to the Yellowhead Highway. That’s not much different from the commute of those who live in more condensed neighbourhoods. You can even choose to take public transportation. Strathcona County Transit provides bus service into the city. It will take less than an hour to get to work, and you’ll be able to relax while you get there.

School Options

We understand how important it is to find a school that’s a good fit for your children. When you choose Summerwood as your home, you have a surprising number of options available to you. There are four elementary schools, three junior high schools, and two high schools nearby. Among these, you’ll find traditional schools, Catholic schools, and even French immersion programs. It’s all about what you want for your children.

Finding the right community for your family is an important step in the home buying process. We’re sure that you’re going to like what you see in Summerwood, and we invite you to come out and take a look at the community. With affordable homes in the process of being built, you could be moving into a brand-new home sooner than you think. Our Area Managers can help put you on the path to finding your dream home.
