5 Family-Friendly Floor Plans

Buying a home is a big commitment, and once you move in you’ll ideally want to be putting down roots and staying for the long-term, so it’s important to get it just right.
Let’s take a look at some of our best family-friendly floor plans so you can figure out which one is perfect for you.
Our Reveal model is a 1,361 square foot townhouse and it’s ideal for a family just starting out in their first home. With a front-attached garage, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, you’ll never be short of space.
The Reveal has a foyer with a half-bathroom by the entrance, which opens up into the main living area. Here you’ll find a spacious open-plan layout that includes the great room, an eating nook and the kitchen, which also features a full-sized walk-in pantry.
Moving upstairs, you’ll see the main bathroom, closet and three bedrooms, including your master suite. The master bedroom, located at the opposite side of the home for maximum quiet and privacy, features a walk-in closet and an ensuite bathroom.
You’ll also have the option to finish the basement in this home, giving you even more living space or the ability to add extra bedrooms.
The Denton is a 1,506 square foot duplex home that, like the Reveal, comes with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. As you enter, you’ll notice that the foyer, great room, kitchen and nook are all part of one huge open area, which makes the living space feel even larger than it already is. On top of this, the main and basement floors feature 9’ ceilings to complete the effect.
The upstairs is equally roomy, with a huge master bedroom (complete with walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom), two guest bedrooms, the main bathroom (separate from the ensuite) and a spacious loft/bonus room that you can use however you like.
You’ll also have the option to finish the basement to add even more space to the Denton, with one of two options – you can either finish it as an extension to your existing living space or as a legal income suite.
Families who have been looking for a large home that meets all of their needs are flocking to the Thomas. With over 2,500 square feet of living space – and an additional 700 square feet if you choose to finish the basement – you’ll certainly have plenty of room to spread out.
The first floor features a large mudroom with a walk-in closet, a walk-through pantry for the kitchen, and a bench in the foyer. It has an open floor plan with a kitchen, dining nook, and living room, but also includes a flex room you can use as a home office or playroom.
The second floor also has a large bonus room ideal for family game nights or sleepovers. Parents especially love the ensuite in the master bedroom. It has two sinks, separate shower and bath areas, and a privacy door for the toilet.
Aside from these basics, the Thomas also has several alternative layouts that fit different families. Ask your Area Manager about all of the options.
Part of our new Evolve series of homes, the Sansa is designed to be spacious as well as affordable. It features 1,477 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, with the option to add a finished basement and a detached two-car garage, perfect for busy families.
The main floor features a half-bathroom, a great room, a nook and a kitchen with a pantry. As with most of our designs, the main floor is built around an open-plan layout. This not only brightens the space by allowing in more light and makes the home feel bigger, but it’s also great for families with young children. With an open plan layout, you can be in the kitchen and still be able to see what the kids are up to in the living room, for instance.
Upstairs, there’s a master suite with a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom, a convenient upstairs laundry room, another full bathroom, two guest bedrooms and even a bonus room!
The Asset model is another of our Evolve series of homes. It has a front-attached garage, 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms in its spacious 1559 square foot floor plan. On the main floor, the kitchen features a walk-in pantry, quartz countertops and 36-inch cabinets, with luxury vinyl plank flooring that you’ll find throughout the home.
The upstairs has a laundry room and full bathroom, plus a large bonus room you can customize any way you want. On either side of this, you’ll find the two guest bedrooms and your master suite with a walk-in closet and ensuite bathroom.
As with our other models, with the Asset you’ll also have the option to finish the basement either as extra living space or as a full legal suite.
