About Summerside

Summerside is located just west of the Anthony Henday ring road. It’s bounded by 34 Street to the north, 41 Avenue to the east, 17 Street to the south, and 66 Street to the west. This makes it just a short drive from some of the city’s major roadways.

The neighbourhood was named after a former resort area that was located on the south side of the community, which was in operation from the early 1900s until the late 1970s.

Today, Summerside is home to a beautiful man-made lake called Lake Summerside. This 27-hectare lake is surrounded by walking trails and parkland, making it a great spot for residents to enjoy the outdoors. The community also has its own private beach club, which offers residents a variety of recreational activities and amenities.

Amenities For Everyone

There are plenty of amenities located in and around the community of Summerside, such as the   Summerside Athletic Park, Ellerslie Rugby Park and two different playgrounds.

Summerside is also home to the Edmonton Public Library’s Summerside Branch. This branch features a unique children’s area, as well as meeting rooms and study spaces that are available for use by the public.
